Thursday Randomness

To extrapolate on yesterday's weirdness:

1) Lately I've found myself spontaneously doing the Macarena. I'll be talking to my wife about the weather or her day at work and my body just starts doing the Macarena for no apparent reason. I get particularly odd looks when complaining about how cold it is while doing the hip-sway part of the dance. "It's only negative six fahrenHEEEEEY MACARENA!!!" I s'pose it could be worse... at least it's not the Electric Slide, Watermelon Crawl, YMCA, or the ever so classic "Bartman"

2) I'm still waiting for Christopher Walken to thank Jason Mraz who in 2003 discovered another cure for Walken's fever (up to that point the only known cure had been "more cowbell"). Mraz recorded The Remedy in response to said fever thus giving the world a reprieve from cowbells everywhere.

3) Thinking that Mraz's The Remedy might also cure my Macarenitis, I listened to it this morning on the way to work to no avail... So I believe THIS fever may need an extra strength dose of MORE COWBELL!

4) Something tells me there's a YouTube video somewhere in this story. But I don't have the proper wires to hook my video camera up to the computer to record this rare affliction and share it with the world so I guess y'all will just have to be a bit old fashioned and use your imagination.

I'm a random dancer too. But I'm not troubled by this.

I love the fact you spontaneously burst into the Macarena.

I think the Animaniacs would be apropos in this situation... Oi, Macademia!!!

the two men in my life...my husband and my 9 year old son are spontaneous dancing fiends......and are able to change the words to a song off the top of their thoughts to something more absurdly funny.

I wouldn't want it any other way.

good to know you do the same.....

Phoenix: No but his song can be used as a "remedy" for that fever which can normally only be cured with "more cowbell."

Dickeybird: You strike me as a random dancer. This weekend I started doing the macarena for my friends' 6 month old baby. He was as unimpressed with my Macarena as he was with his aunt's rendition of "The Hustle."

Snooze: Exactly! Better the Macarena than the Electric Slide, right?

Ray: Animaniacs rock, they almost make me want to name a daughter "Mindy" (If I end up having a daughter) that I'd love to teach to refer to me as "Mr. Man" and my wife/her mother as "Lady."

awareness: The song lyric thing runs in my family too. My father came up with the gem: I've Got a Boiler Problem from the Drifter's classic Under the Boardwalk, one of my older brothers has come up with a handful of gems including Heat Lightning (for Tom Petty's Free Fallin'), My Eyes in Georgia (for Frankie Valli's My Eyes Adored Ya), and my personal favorite Rock Me, I'm a Danish (for Falco's Rock Me Amadeus). And I've personally come up with Soccer Mom (for Semisonic's Closing Time) and Sabbath Day, Eating Pork (for Chicago's Saturday In the Park).

those are hilarious......i can hear them now! of course, i can't remember any of on my end...but will have to ask tonight when I'm home.....and then I'll get the song and dance routine......

animaniacs as do pinky and the brain rule at my house (What are we going to do tonight, Pinky?...)

The line that often gets thrown out during rare silences.....from hey Arnold....do you know Eugene? He always has things fall on him? he was in a skit in one of the episodes and sang......

"If life gives you lemons, dance! Dance like you have a muskrat in your pants!"

OH........BTW perplex.....a PeeWee Herman marionette sits proudly on a shelf in my kitchen......he is still king of silly dance.

Anyone for Tequilla?
