Is anyone really where they thought they would be 10 years down the road? It would be pretty boring if they were. It's the surprises that make things interesting.

Hey...I'm still alive at my age. That's a huge surprise, but I'll take it. :)

Damn...10 years ago, I was:

A high school English teacher
Had no children
Drove a Jeep
And had one-length, long hair, worn in a ponytail usually.

That is so f____ed up.

You must post photos of the mullet

fuzz: I couldn't agree more.

Bruce: Not only that but I also find it miraculous that Keith Richards is still alive and that Brian Wilson has managed to outlive his 2 brothers.

Phoenix: what did your students think of your stylin' Hairdo?

Snooze: I disavow any and all knowledge of whatever it is you're talking about. ;-)

Ten years ago sounds like a lifetime. Ewwww....I'd rather not swell on it... although I was not irrationally unhappy at the time, I think I'm better off in many ways now.

Ten years is a long time, isn't it? You don't really realize until you take the time to think.

Thanks for sharing!

Susan: 10 years ago I was just wrapping up my freshman year of college. I hated my first semester but loved my second semester of college.

Green eyes: Time flies far too quickly, it seems the older I get the faster time seems to pass.

Hmm.. I remember the days of smoking cloves cigarrettes and listening to Pearl Jam and the Violent Femmes... wow.. time travel.

Yes, the mullet pic would be a nice addition to your blog. Heh..

Lostintx: I remember going to keggers back in the day. I'd bring bottles of Boone's Farm to drink BEFORE starting on the beer (which was generally quite bad)-- after a drinking a bottle or two of Boone's the keg beer would go down like water... oh, to be young and stupid!

As for any pictures of me with a mullet, there weren't many taken, and the few which were taken mysteriously spontaneously combusted when I finally conceded that the eighties were over-- in about 1997 or 1998.

ten years ago...that was like, yesterday.
my son was 5 and I thought being a parent was "easy". My hair was down to my waist. I had a crush on Val Kilmer, still do. Real life crush - none - I was contnet being single.

Barbara: Your comment just proves that the more things change, the more they stay the same...

They thought I looked like "The Crow." My mother said I was very scary looking. I attended a funeral several years back, and of course I was wearing all black...including a black overcoat and black gloves. With my hair back in a pony tail, I saw people at the restaurant cower in fear, thinking I was an assassin or something.

I chopped it all off shortly thereafter.

I love the 'asparagus tattoo' idea!
So random and strange.

St. Dickeybird: Well that's me, "random and strange." ;-)

Seriously though, I hear about people getting tattoos of the Chinese characters for "Peace" or "Serenity" or some other positive word. I find it to be a bit pretentious (kind of like Sean Combs releasing a press release every time he changes his nickname). So I'd want the Russian word for "Asparagus" spelled out in its native cyrillic characters.
