Tuesday notes...

Since my brain still isn't in a place that allows me to get "deep" about anything here's some more randomness...

1) Shortly after midnight friends of my wife & I almost had a baby. It got its head out saw it's shadow, climbed back inside. The doctors have said they'll try again in 6 weeks. ;-)

Just kidding, they had a baby boy-- just over 8 lbs. I haven't heard how "tall/long" the baby is yet... But given that both parents are over 6' tall, something tells me he's probably on the long side.

2) My morning commute was over 2 hours thanks to some rather snowy weather. The roads were slick and traffic was bumper to bumper most of the way. I didn't see any plows or salt trucks on the road. I did see a few parking lots being plowed out by the private sector but IDOT salt trucks/plows were conspicuously absent. I'm not at all looking forward to the drive home tonight.

I hope the drive home was better than you feared. The D.C. area got off easy on the snow--less than one inch so far--but we could see a half-inch of ice overnight. Ouch.

Be safe.

Our roads were plowed very quickly! I looked out the window, bitched about the weather reports being exaggerated, and then stepped into foot-deep snow (that wasn't there 7 hours prior) in my driveway.
The roads were slippery, so I took the train. This way, if there's an accident I'm in the bigger stronger vehicle!

I enjoyed that groundhog analogy. My mom always said I "refused" to come out too. Knowing what I know now, can ya blame me?:)
