Yay

So, here I am in Austin, TX helping to set up one of my company's new stores so it can open on time. And after working several hours to get the store set up, my two fellow co-workers from the home office and I went out for some good Texan food. I had a rack of some of the most delicious ribs I've ever had, a tall glass of delicious dark beer, and a phone call from wifey saying the realtor had called and that we're good to go for the closing on our townhome next Friday! YAY! We have the final walkthrough at 10:15 am, the closing at 11 and our realtor wants to take us out for lunch afterwards to celebrate.

Well 1 1/2 more days in Austin, then back home to Chicago. But it's late and I best be getting to bed, I've been up since 5:45 am and now it's 1:30 am... the next morning.

Current Music: Joseph Williams - Your Song (I love this dude's voice, he could sing the NY Metro White pages and I'd buy it in a heartbeat)

Texas has some awesome food, probably third best behind Chicago, IL and of course Kansas City is Top Gun.

Congrats, once this is all over with it must feel like the weight of the world is off your shoulders. I could only imagine how much stress buying and selling a house would be.

Phoenix: Yes, the food here has been pretty good so far. I will miss it after I head home. Although, after walking by a few pizzerias and seeing some of their pizzas, I am missing my good old Chicago style deep dish.

Dan and Susan: Thank you!

fuzz: No but I did have one of the other local beers, I forget which. It was a really dark and tasty one.

jeff: It will feel like the weight of the world is off of our shoulders until our first mortgage payment is due. Then it will feel like a much different weight has been put on them.

dickeybird: It's been quite hot here but I actually don't mind the heat so much once I'm in it. It's usually just that first blast when I go from cool Air Conditioned air to hot Texas air.

Congrats on the closing--it'll be good to have that behind you. Just don't panic when you see the Truth in Lending Act's statement on what the mortgage actually costs you in principal + interest!
