random things

Yesterday wifey & I drove to work seperately. Her car has A/C, mine does not. On the drive into work I thought to myself, "This isn't so bad." On the drive home, with a thick sheen of sweat coating my body and a hot breeze blasting through my car that was akin to standing in front of an oven I was forced to reconsider.

As I was driving home I was listening to the Roe Conn show on 890 WLS AM. Of course the unbearable heat was the subject du jour with random conjecture on whether or not the presence of the Gay Games had anything to do with the sudden rise in temperatures.

The other big topic was Naperville, IL (incidentally, where my in-laws now live) being rated the #2 place to live in the United States (last year they were #3-- for those who are curious, Fort Collins, Colorado is #1) by Money magazine. So Roe and his amusing and esteemed cohosts were extolling the virtues of Naperville before discussing some of its faults-- of which its proximity to Aurora topped the list. Luckily there is a border patrol of wealthy old matrons with salad forks to prevent all those ne'er-do-wells from Aurora from stealing the feta cheese from their salads.

Anywho-- with the heat being what it is and with our respective offices being relatively close to each other-- today wifey and I opted to drive together.

In other news, if you'll take a look to the left hand side of this entry ====>
you'll notice I've updated the list of blogs linked to from this site. If your blog is missing from this list I assure you it's a mere oversight, I updated it on the fly this morning. Please drop me a comment and I'll be happy to add your blog if it's not already there.

I saw that list from Money magazine too. Funny enough Sugar Land, Tx is in the top 10, I think and just this morning I read about two teenagers that killed a girl because of "morbid curiosity."

The heat is killing us all... I'd die without a/c right now. For once I'm glad I'm stuck in a building all day.

I'm loving the heat.
On Sunday, I spent about 3 hours in my car baking.
The hot breeze blasting through the windows as I race down the highway...
Of course, I've got a bit of a sunburn from the open sunroof, but it was lovely.

I noticed you had me linked. Yours must have gotten erased somehow. I know I had it up at one time. I will stick yours back up. Sorry about that.

"It Better End Soon" eh? Good choice! :)

... Umm ... just one other thing [*shuffles foot and looks sheepishly at ground*] ... it's just that ... well ... there's no link. No link anywhere. To my blog, I mean. I looked and everything ... :( ... But I still think you're really keen!

I remember some place in NJ was rated number 1 last year, I'll have to check out that list again.
