lostintx: Which has had better days? Tom Hanks or Kyle McLachlan? I keep wondering why, if they wanted to make the Robert Langdon character look like Kyle McLachlan, did they hire Tom Hanks instead. I realize Hanks is a bigger box office draw but if he's essentially channeling McLachlan-- well shouldn't poor Kyle at least be entitled to royalties due to Hanks copping his look?
Tom is a MUCH better actor. Tom's forehead looks really weird in that pic too... I don't know if they were trying to copy Kyle but must make Robert Langdon look like a dork.
lostintx: I agree that Hanks is a decent actor, but having read that vile tripe known as The DaVinci Code I believe he's horribly miscast. When I was reading the book I was actually picturing more of a Michael Douglas type actor, someone with a little bit more of a dark edge than Hanks has.
Mimi: There are scenes in Orange County where his son Colin briefly has that same early 80s Hanks doo and you'd swear you're looking at Tom. It's uncanny. I also enjoyed Hanks in Splash and The Man With One Red Shoe.
It's hard to believe that Hanks hair looked better in CastAway (after he'd been stuck on the island for 4 years) than it looks in these more recent pictures...
dantallion: And both of them kind of look a little like John Travolta too. Please don't tell me Hanks is going all Scientologist on us now like Travolta and Cruise...
Bruce: I want to remake Turner & Hooch to be about a redneck bootlegger and his favorite moonshine. 'cept mine would be called Turner & His Hooch
Phoenix: Oddly enough, most movies I went to with girls over the years I actually watched the movie. I forget the title, but the first time I ever went to a movie and ended up missing most of it because I was making out was some Morgan Freeman movie back in 2001. I know he did Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls one of those 2 had Ashley Judd and the other had Monica Potter-- it was the Monica Potter one.
I'm a perpetually puzzling and persistently pleasant person. My purpose is to propose perplexing points and queries to the predominantly problematic issues concerns and etc. pervading, invading, overtaking our lives via the perpetual posturing of pretentious celebrity types who purport to know better than we pious people how to live our otherwise pleasant lives. Prior to further perplexing you it is an honour and pleasure to make your acquaintance.... And it's also a good thing I don't have any spitting problems or my monitor would be drenched by now.

He's definitely had better days.

Man, he looks like he belongs at the pulpit during the Oral Roberts Christ for Cash Hour.

I agree that Hanks is a better actor than Kyle... although they do have similar bone structure and flesh distribution at this age...
Nothing like growing older and getting a bit paunchy to humble a person...
Don't forget the movie, "Big." That was another great Hanks movie!
Sometimes, books should be left alone and not made into a screen play. "The Firm" was one....
Oh c'mon people...the greatest Tom Hanks movie ever was Turner and Hooch. ;)
Why would they make a movie based on a really crappy book? I don't get it. Can hype lightning strike twice???
Tom Hank's best movie ever - "Big." I had my first make-out session to that movie, in the theatre. Oh man, that was so awesome.

why is it this new 'do makes Tom Hanks' head look like papier maiche? Someone described him as looking "Doughy" . Quite!
