Introspection

Sometimes when you look into your glasses and see your own eyes reflected in the lens you feel as though you're staring into your own soul... sometimes you actually like what you see.

Sometimes you want to climb inside-- wrap your soul around you like a blanket-- protecting you from the cold and harsh world, use it as a shield of sorts. There is a certain level of comfort found in introspection. A secret smile, an inside joke shared between you and the ghosts of your past. It's that joke or smile that gives you comfort when the world seems to be just a little too overwhelming or claustrophobic.

It's not often that I hear something totally new and fresh - but what you wrote here is! I have never heard anyone describe this before, but I know what you mean!

I do it all the time---I am still laughing about stuff that happened in 1975.
