Over lunch today one of my coworkers was discussing how she wanted to seriously cut back on her meat intake. She lives alone with a couple of dogs and mentioned that in the future she only planned on eating meat when out with friends... Essentially becoming a "social carnivore" (a term she coined). I mentioned that would be a great name for a band. Then another co-worker mentioned Meat Loaf would be the perfect lead singer for such a group. We even went so far as to start designing album covers (featuring wolves drinking Martinis, smoking cigarettes, and generally being sociable creatures). T-Bone Walker was also mentioned as a possible group member.
I was more of the idea that the band members take stage names reminiscent of various different cuts of meat:
Chuck - Bass Player
Del Monico - Drummer
Phil A. Mignon - Lead Vocals/guitar
Porter Howse - Keyboards
Another idea that was presented was that all the band members would wear bibs at their live shows.
But on the flipside, I got to thinking this afternoon, the opposite of the Social Carnivores would be the Solitary Vegans-- yet another fun and interesting band name!

Fiona Apple would lead the Soliary Vegans.
Promo item for the cd release party: pre-packaged logo'd toothpicks and dental floss. This is a can't-fail plan!
I wish I had something witty and clever to add, I'll just say I LOVE T-BONE WALKER and leave it at that.
Sounds like you work with some creative and fun people (not unlike yourself)
Drummer Chuck Biscuits is a punk rock legend of sorts having played with Black Flag, DOA, Danzig and Social Distortion. I always thought his name sounded like a dog food brand. His real is Charles Montgomery which is far less interesting.
I also think at every concert fans should receive a wet-nap on their way out.
Phoenix: And PETA could sponsor her tour as "The Solitary Vegan"
Phlegmfatale: And I'm sure the Weber Grill company would run the concession stands at their concerts.
Barbara: If you only knew! hehehe
Metal Mark: Yeah Chuck Biscuits does sound like a dog food... But it's appropriate that he's a drummer. With a name like "Chuck" I picture bass players and/or drummers. "Chuck" is not a lead singer or a guitarist's name or nickname.
Susan: that reminds me of a joke I heard from a stand-up comic once: "What's a 'wet nap' anyway? Is it a wet dream when you wake up too soon?"
If they had a female singer, her name could be Barb E. Cue...
Solitary Vegan: Sarah McLaughlin, Ani DiFranco, Fiona Apple...
That's sort of how I usually describe my dietary habits to people: a social meat eater. I like the term carnivore though.
