Favorite Satirical Song

Over on The Art of Getting By Janet asked her readers what their favorite satirical song is.

My favorite satire song is the late Kevin Gilbert's Goodness Gracious off his 1995 solo album Thud. Gilbert was an exceptional lyricist and this song has even more truth to it today than it did when he wrote and recorded it back in 1995:

When the ones that get to keep looking
are the ones that look away
It's pabulum for the sleepers
in the cult of brighter days .

Just to clarify, the songs need not be spoofs or remakes and/or they can be tongue in cheek or sarcastic. Really anything that has made you chuckle over the years for whatever reason, will probably suffice.

Sense of Smell

What are some of your favorite smells and is there a reason attached to why you like them so much? And in a two parter, what smells can't you stand and why? (try not to pick the obvious ones we all can agree upon here, k?)

So here's my response:

I like the smell of coconut-scented suntan lotion. Well I love coconuts, so that kind of explains that. I also like the smell of Drakkar Noir, which is why I wear it. My older brother, Kevin, also wears it and the smell of it and the fact we both wear it kind of feels like a fraternal bond.

As for scents and odors I don't like just the obvious ones really.
